About Trinity Cemetery

Trinity Church has an active cemetery containing both a graveyard and a columbarium. Interments take place regularly and family members are always welcome to visit the final resting place of their loved ones. Families are also offered other types of Memorial Options.

Trinity Anglican Church Streetsville was founded in 1841 and the first interment in 1843 was Ellen Roe. Canvassing the cemetery you’ll notice several children’s names on markers and monuments. The youngest children resting in the cemetery are twins William and Henry Pallister, who died in 1848 at 16 days old.

Not only is Trinity Church Cemetery the final resting space for many parishioners, some prominent early settlers of Streetsville are here too. Although Timothy Street, Sr, after whom Streetsville was named, is not here, his son, Timothy Street, Jr., is. So is Henry Rutledge, who donated bricks from his brickyard to build Trinity Anglican Church. Several streets in town are named after Rutledge and his children.

Recently, several volunteers from Trinity have been working towards shining a brighter light on the cemetery’s rich history.  Historic tours were offered in 2021 and there are plans to offer more. In September 2021, the cemetery was designated a historic site by the City of Mississauga because three men who fought in the War of 1812 rest here.  Visit our Events and History pages for more information.

We are working on bringing the cemetery into the 21st century, by integrating paper records, including maps, interments, and biographical information into a computer database. Later this year, we hope to add a link on this site which will allow people to search for loved ones and historical figures.  Stay tuned.

Our vision is to create a beautiful, healthy cemetery that honours the lives of those who have gone before us. This requires preserving and maintaining the grounds and monuments, in tandem with beautification efforts. It’s a big job. We can’t do it alone.
